An IP address lookup that shows your own public IP address and lets you look up the approximate location, ISP, ASN and timezone of any IPv4 or IPv6 address.

An IP address is the number that identifies a device on the internet, the return address that lets websites and services send data back to you. Every device online has one.

Your own public IP is read on the server directly from your request, without involving any third party, and it is shown to you but not stored.

For geolocation and for looking up any address you enter, the queried IP is sent to the free freeipapi.com service over HTTPS, and only when you actually run a lookup. Nothing is sent just by opening the page.

IP geolocation is approximate. It usually identifies the country and region reliably, but the city can be wrong, especially on mobile networks, business connections and VPNs, where the address may map to the provider rather than to you.

The ASN (Autonomous System Number) tells you which network operator the address belongs to, which is useful for spotting a hosting provider, a VPN, or the ISP behind a connection.

Your own IP is shown to you but not stored, and an address is only sent to the geolocation service when you actually run a lookup. Opening the page alone sends nothing.
