Blur & Redact Image

This blur and redact tool hides faces, license plates and personal details in a photo. You draw a box over each thing to hide, and it is blurred or pixelated in place.

It is exactly what you need before sharing a photo publicly: obscuring bystanders' faces, a number plate in a car photo, a name badge, a house number, or any detail that should not be on the internet.

It all runs in your browser with the Canvas API, so your photo never leaves your device, which is the whole point when the image is private or sensitive.

There is no automatic face detection and no AI model to download. You draw over precisely the areas you want hidden, which is fast, private and avoids the mistakes automatic detection can make.

Blurring smears an area into a soft smudge, while pixelating breaks it into coarse blocks. Both make the detail unreadable, so you can pick whichever look you prefer.

The covered areas are re-rendered in the downloaded image, so the original detail underneath is gone and cannot be recovered from the saved file. Keep your original if you need it.
