The Elterngeld calculator estimates German parental allowance from your average net income before the birth. It models both Basiselterngeld and ElterngeldPlus, and applies the replacement rate, which rises toward 100 percent for lower incomes.
It respects the statutory minimum of 300 EUR and maximum of 1,800 EUR for Basiselterngeld, and adds the sibling bonus (Geschwisterbonus) and the multiple-birth supplement (Mehrlingszuschlag) where they apply.
Example: an average net income of 2,000 EUR per month gives roughly 65 percent, about 1,300 EUR of Basiselterngeld per month.
Use it to plan parental leave and to compare Basiselterngeld with ElterngeldPlus, which pays about half per month over roughly twice as long.
It is an estimate for orientation, not the binding decision of the Elterngeldstelle. Your official amount can differ once your actual income and circumstances are assessed.
